KBVR-FM first went on the air on Oct. 27, 1965, and since then, the station has been by students, for students.

KBVR was first located in Shepard Hall on the Oregon State University Campus. In 1967, the station moved to Snell Hall. In 2015, KBVR moved to its current home in the Student Experience Center. KBVR is staffed entirely by students, who manage the day-to-day operations. On-air programming is provided by volunteer OSU students.

Whatever kind of music you might be into, you’re sure to find it on KBVR-FM. Home to a variety of shows and DJs with different tastes, KBVR-FM is a freeform, noncommercial station. Maybe you want to start a talk show or get into sports broadcasting; maybe you want to start a podcast from the comfort of your dorm room. Whatever you choose to play­ on the airwaves, our loyal listeners will be by your side as you share the content you love with the community. Any fee-paying student is welcome to join- whether you’re in Corvallis, Bend, or if you’re taking classes online, we want to have your voice on the air!
