Bay Ledges Ritual Tour in PDX

Bay Ledges

Natalie Galbraith, Music Director

On Friday, June 24, I attended the Bay Ledges concert in Portland, OR at Polaris Hall. It was a beautiful sunny day in Portland and I found a parking spot right next to the venue so I had a good feeling about the show. Polaris Hall is an intimate venue with a beautiful glitter stage backdrop — Bay Ledges’ Zach Hurd made a comment on how it felt like he was in a living room. The rug on the stage certainly added to that effect.

Although intimate, the crowd still had plenty of room to dance. The two people in front of the stage caught my eye as they were dancing and spinning each other around. The crowd weren’t the only ones dancing — the singer and guitarist of Bay Ledges had some groovy moves himself. Zach Hurd had great stage presence whether he was jamming on his guitar or hitting some great vocals.

Zach was not the only one in the band — the drummer, Kyle, was a fan favorite. In between songs, Zach told us that at their previous show there were many sixteen year olds who were big fans of Kyle. Although this show didn’t have any sixteen year olds, as it was 21+, Kyle was still a big hit.

The Bay Ledges tour is about to end, but check out the album “Ritual” if you haven’t already.
